Artificial Grass/3G/Astroturf

This surface is treated using a specialist foam chemical clean, designed to safely and effectively break down stubborn contamination embedded within the surface.

We use bio-friendly, non-toxic cleaning agents that sanitise the area while loosening ingrained dirt, algae, organic matter and tough stains without damaging the fibres or base layers. The foam is allowed sufficient dwell time to penetrate the surface before being thoroughly rinsed.

All loosened sediment is carefully rinsed into approved drainage systems or collected and removed from site where required, ensuring a clean, compliant finish.

Hard Courts & Clay Courts

Asphalt or concrete with acrylic/polyurethane layers, crushed brick, shale, or stone.

Popular with tennis courts, football training grounds and children’s playgrounds, this type of surface is best maintained using a foam chemical spray, followed by a high-temperature steam clean with a rotary flat surface cleaner.

Over time, algae and moss can establish within surface pores and joints, creating extremely slippery conditions. This not only affects player performance but significantly increases the risk of slips, falls and injuries, particularly in high-use environments.

Our process begins with the application of a bio-friendly foaming chemical, which sanitises the surface and breaks down organic growth and ingrained contamination. This is then followed by a controlled steam clean, which draws embedded dirt and biological matter up and out of the surface without causing damage.

All loosened debris is washed into suitable drainage systems or collected and removed from site, depending on site requirements.

Once the surface is fully clean, we apply a BAC50 Pro biocide treatment to help inhibit algae and moss regrowth, extending the clean finish and maintaining safer playing conditions for longer.

Asphalt/Polymeric Rubber (EPDM)

A common alternative to the surfaces above, this type of finish is most popular on netball courts and features a rubberised texture. While it offers good grip, it does not typically have the same lifespan as harder sports surfaces and can be easily damaged if excessive pressure is used.

For this reason, the safest and most effective method of cleaning is a low-pressure, high-temperature steam cleaning process. This allows us to remove algae, moss and ingrained contamination without degrading the rubber surface or causing delamination.

Particular care is taken during cleaning to ensure the rotary cleaner is moved in a controlled figure-of-eight motion. This technique is essential to prevent stripe marks or streaking, which can occur if the cleaner is passed in straight lines and can significantly impact the visual appearance of the court.

Once the surface has been thoroughly cleaned, we apply a professional biocide treatment. This soaks into the surface pores and helps to inhibit future organic regrowth, keeping the court safer, cleaner and visually consistent for longer.
